Ramos and Compean: Appeal rejected.
July 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Ramos and Compean protected the Southern border and got caught. Now they are going to pay a devastating price. How did they get caught?
Rene Sanchez, an Arizona border patrol agent, is good friends with Aldrete-Davila, the Mexican drug runner Ramos and Compean shot. Aldrete-Davila (the drug runner) complained to Rene. Rene complained to his superiors and many man-hours, departments and resources were tied up in an investigation– not into why a border patrol agent was such good pals with a known drug runner, or in catching the drug runner himself, or in shutting down and arresting the people who had hired the drug runner. No, all of the energy, intensity and vindictiveness was put into burning 2 border patrol agents with families on behalf of a smuggler.
Mr. President, pardon these men.

20 years of Rush makes me less bitter about not having an FM tuner on my factory installed radio
July 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
A little tribute to Rush on the 20th anniversary of his show. I’m not sure how anyone ever became aware of him because I can’t think of a reason why anyone would turn on the radio at noon before his arrival.
AM radio was an awful place in 1988 — a staticky ghetto for kooks, conspiracies, and screamers. Since then Rush has transformed himself into the foremost conservative leader in America and the entire AM band into such coveted real estate, our presumptive Democratic landlords are looking for ways to evict him.
More Rush tributes to be found at Human Events all this week.

Guess who said this. Hint: His middle name begins with an “H”

No no, I’ve never said that troops should be withdrawn, what I said is that we’ve got to make sure that we secure and execute the rebuilding and reconstruction process effectively and properly, and I don’t think we should have an artificial deadline when to do that.
Thanks to Scott at Buuuuuurrrrrrrrning Hot for bringing us this. Not that catching Obama in a flat out lie matters. Obama is a new kind of politician and will not be judged on the content of what he says, does, has done, will do, won’t do, or whom he associates with. The new kind of politician is judged on how sonorous his “ummm’s” sound and how loose his collar fits. Obama is doing rather well.
Hear Obama make the quote 26 seconds into this Moonbattery video.

The Old Ryskind Sketchbook
July 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment
The Apple transition from its .mac domain to the new mobil me servers has been double-plus bad. The old links that we were promised would not be affected don’t work, and the Mobil Me support team won’t answer my emails. Anyway, if you update your links to ryskindsketchbook.com you can get to the original site.
With apologies,
Sam
