The best thing about Sarah Palin’s speech was the effect it had on PBS reporter Gwen Ifill. Gwen, who is slated to moderate the Vice Presidential debate, looked like she had been hit by a truck, and then backed over by a truck.
Nevertheless, Gwen was extremely gracious. She pointed out that the Governor had read her speech “word for word”. High praise indeed. Everyone read their speeches. Barack Obama and Joe Biden read their speeches. But the only person Gwen chose to single out was Sarah.
Andrea Mitchell I’m told also did not look well after the speech, but that may have more to do with the fact she wasn’t standing next to husband Alan Greenspan than any malignant bias. When Andrea is standing next to Greenspan, not only does she look healthy, she looks young–Chinese gymnast young.
